Scarface 1920 launches on Kickstarter on June 15
Scarface 1920, the first board game from Redzen Games, has a Kickstarter release date already: June 15. By the way, you can now sign up on Kickstarter so you don’t miss the date.
As we have been explaining in recent weeks, Scarface 1920 is a super immersive game that takes place in Chicago in the 1920s, in the era of gangsters and Prohibition. The game mixes worker placement, deck building and area control mechanics. Developed by Toni Serradesanferm and Daniel Simón, it is a competitive game for 1 to 4 players and whose games last approximately between 90 and 150 minutes.
Scarface 1920 features spectacular miniatures by Bigchild Creatives and impressive art by illustrator Antonio Stappaerts. Miniature lovers will enjoy incredible replicas of the game’s bosses (Al Capone, Stephanie St. Clair, Arnold Rothstein, and Dean O’Banion), but also mind-blowing vehicles, gang thugs, and buildings that make up Chicago businesses.
To complete the process of immersing players in the era of gangsters, Redzen Games has taken care of all the details of Scarface 1920 to the maximum. Thus, in addition to the miniatures, the game has a huge variety of cards, all with exclusive art from Stappaerts: from gang members to new businesses or commercial deals. Its majestic board or the gangboard, from which players will see the evolution of their gang, are some of the components that will be found by those who decide to back the game on June 15 on Kickstarter. In Scarface 1920, players will have to lead one of four gangs trying to take control of the city of Chicago:
- The Black Wolves: The African American gang is led by Stephanie St. Clair, a relentless woman, a cyclone of nature who has built her own empire from the streets, where she is respected and feared in equal measure.
- The Seven Gems, with Arnold Rothstein at the helm, a guy known as The Brain and the most notorious gangster of the Jewish Mob. Rothstein is a businessman with important political connections who has made a criminal career in the world of gambling.
- The Chicago Outfit, the fearsome gang led by the famous Al Capone. Scarface is pure ambition, a media guy with an explosive character who will not hesitate to spill all the blood necessary to become the true master of the city.
- North Side Mob, which is led by Dean O’Banion. Of Irish origin, O’Banion has carved out his criminal career on the streets of Chicago, where he controls most of the alcohol trade. He has many enemies who want his piece of the pie… and little desire to share it, at least for the good.
As the boss, each player must control the streets and expand their territory, build the most fearsome gang in the city, establish new alliances, open new lines of business, dominate the underworld and keep an eye on Eliot Ness. Alcohol, weapons, corruption, bribery, territorial control and influence, all come together in Scarface 1920, the mafia game you’ve been waiting for.
